Wow, that's nice Ken! I love the look of your two-point design!
Ken, I am intrigued by your hybrid tops mentioned on earlier Toro post...did you decide against it?
What have you discovered so far?
I love the flavor of your new model.
Happy pickin

No, I haven't abandoned the idea of the hybrid top. That made a super nice sounding mandolin. The last two have been cedar, number 4 and 5. The last one is cedar from a telegraph pole from 1830. I'm in the process of varnishing it now, but I played it in the white and the power of it was really something, surprising. The last few have been tone bar braced too, and they all have been powerful and focused. Thanks Skip. See you soon.
Ken, I'm looking forward to our visit! See you soon!
Cool stuff Ken. Do you carve the hybrid sides symmetrically?
My Weber is a cedar top, Port Orford. The tree was felled in the 50's. When it was a billet, it had a dark bell sound. It took a long time to open up. Now it is super powerful, and has a volume that keeps going until string breakage.

I'm pretty sure from the pattern of the back that this is the one I just bought. It made it's way to the East Coast of Canada.
Unfortunately, the original bridge was replaced.
