Adding on tracks with the GarageBand app

Thanks for your suggestions on a recording app for my iPhone. I downloaded the free version of GarageBand. I can record individual tracks, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to add on additional tracks, say, recording a bass line with my mandocello or bass guitar, then adding, say a couple of mandolin tracks for a trio.

Does someone know where I can go in the 'net where I can get a tutorial or instructions, or what I need to do in GarageBand?
