    Default Landola guitars NMC

Excuse this question but there are some very knowledgable people on here. My brother has run across a Landola guitar model DED-5, that he says is a pretty fair instrument, in an antique shop. He has looked on Internet for Landola guitars but they don't list that model, probably too old to show up. Anyway he says that they must make some entry level and some rather expensive models and wondered which this one is. Anybody know a rough valve on this? P.S. I asked him if it had 6 or 8 strings, thought maybe someone had misspelled mandola, (there's some mandolin content) he said it had 6

Iirc Landola were generally good-quality made somewhere in Scandinavia. I nearly bought one in the (90s? or was it 80s..?). Seems they werent available for very long. Sorry, can't help with the model info -

They still have a web site so probably are still in business. They are or were made in Finland.

I was a dealer for Landola back in the early 90s. They were basic, no frills guitars with mostly solid woods and a skimpy light satin finish. The played and sounded great. Peavy later had Landola make some acoustics for them.

Thanks for the info. The one my brother is interested in is priced $250, does that sound about right?

    - so long as it has a good neck (proper angle, relief, frets) and no catastrophic body damage
