    works great - I think the higher pitch of the mandolin helps - I know a few guitarists who have the GK, capo at the 12th and then transpose the MIDI down an octave.

    Like oval holes enough that even my Strad-O-Lin (genre) has an oval hole and short neck. Oval holes definitely have a different sound, but it's one I prefer. Especially for old-time and Scandinavian folk.
