Very nice job but a little pricey. Not out of line for the workmanship but still...

Thank goodness it didn't have the name Bill on it. It's perfect if your name is Kris, you play the mandolin and you like leather tooling. Beyond that it's a stretch. The case the leather is stitched on looks familiar though.

I like leather tooling, but I am not a fan of that leather tooling.
Hmmmm... "might have belonged"... or not
A mandolin specialist at a local music shop said it will accommodate most mandolin styles (A,F, etc.). He also mentioned that it might have belonged to Kris Kristofferson or maybe his mandolin player, Stephen Bruton. Bruton lived in our Dallas area when he passed away 2009. Just a thought.

Does Kris Jenner play mandolin?
That's pretty much my opinion of it too. Leather tooling comes in many, many different styles. The quality of this one is not terrible, but the design doesn't do much for me. Especially being a hybrid with nylon (or whatever the bag is made from).
One of these days I'm going to beg my wife to make me a custom mandolin case with a completely tooled exterior in the Sheridan-style tooling that she does. It would basically look like this, but it would be a mandolin case, not a pair of saddlebags. Most folks would find it too blingy, but hey...
If you're going to have a tooled case, it should be that nice, Tobin!

The case is an old Protec "ProPac" case from a few years back.

You could buy the case, and name the mandolin inside it "Kris."
