Default Case for my Eastman 515

I have a basic Guardian case for my mandolin. It's ok , but it doesn't fully close. Last rainy Wednesday, I had to use a garbage bag with the case as I was sure it would leak. Not acceptable.

    Suggestions?

Are you saying the case shuts and latches, but doesn't fully close in some areas (indicating maybe warping or deformation of the case itself)? Or does it seem like the mandolin doesn't fit correctly and you can't get the lid to close all the way and latch securely?
If the latter, I have to ask first, have you checked to make sure the mandolin is seated correctly in the case, and nothing is catching or protruding up, causing the case to not close all of the way?
If you recently bought the mandolin new and the case was included, I would first contact the retailer and let them know.
Otherwise, if you're looking for a new case, I use a Travelite with my Eastman MD-315 with armrest installed, and it works just fine. I'm not the craziest about zip-up style cases, but it works fine. I figure if its good enough for Mike Marshall's Gibson Loar, it'll be plenty fine for my lowly little Eastman :P
    Good luck.

Wooden case: Superior CD-1520. Excellent fit. Only downside is there is potential to ding the back of the neck on the neck brace (had it happen in shipping). You will want to lay a polishing cloth there.

Eastman Fiberglass cases. Great values and fit.

Most any of the higher dollar cases seem to fit great.

Travelite is a good fit too.

I like my Eastman FG case.. back pack carry option is excellent.

Rubber gasket edges keep the insides dry when carried in the rain.

Mr5150 - I've got an brand new Eastman case that originally shipped with my 515, but the top of the case is a little warped on one side where it meets the bottom part of the case (towards the end of the mandolin body). Eastman sent me a new one for free and told me to pitch the other. The case is made specifically for the MD515 (it's not the older zipper cases).

If you are willing add a latch, that would fix the problem easily. I'd send it to you free, just cover the shipping/packing cost. I can also upload photos at your request.

    Let me know!

I bought a Superior CD-1520. Fit was horrible could not close the case due to the neck brace. If the neck was a half inch thinner I might have been able to close the case without damaging my instrument.

From Robert Fear - "Travelite is a good fit too..". Robert - i've yet to find a mandolin that won't fit snugly into a Travelite case.
Mine's housed my larger than standard Lebeda,my Weber "Fern", & my Ellis "A" style is currently in residence. All 3 have fitted perfectly, with no slopping around inside,

    Lebeda F-5 "Special".

    Tokai - 'Tele-alike'.

I have a rectangular case that fits an F-5 style instrument. It all works, serviceable in every regard. It's yours, just pay shipping. I'm on the east coast. PM, if interested.

Just so I'm clear, you've got an Eastman F-style in the Guardian tweed case? Does it fit pretty snug without too much movement? I'm pretty sure I "need" a tweed case for my new 315
