    Default Muscle Shoals

According to The Bluegrass Situation, the second Muscle Shoals studio, 3614 Jackson Highway, has now been restored and has been named the #1 tourist spot in the Alabama for 2017.

Many of the greatest soul hits, as well as a whole lot of rock, folk-rock and southern rock was recorded there in the 60's and 70's. For music lovers, it's time well spent to pop some corn and look up the documentary Muscle Shoals on Netflix. I've watched it a half dozens time the past few years, and never tire of the story.

Amen re: the Muscle Shoals documentary. We got it from Netflix first, then actually ordered a copy for our small collection. Great stuff! For those who enjoy this type of documentary, there is another good one called "Standing in the Shadows of Motown." It is about the Funk Brothers - the Motown 'house band' who were uncredited on most of the really landmark Motown recordings. Great interviews, and some great music.
All my life I wanted to be somebody, now I realize I should have been more specific.

And don't forget the Wrecking Crew doc, as well.

+1 to all three documentaries from me. All three were really interesting. I knew the least about the wrecking crew.

The Wrecking Crew was great, there were several musicians I hadn't known of. Two of my favorites, Leon Russel and Glen Campbell were part of that crew. And while I'm there, I'll highly recommend the film "I'm Still Me" - the story of Glen's farewell tour and his struggle with Alzheimer's Disease in a really intimate portrait. Not to be missed.
