That Gold Tone mandocello looks pretty awesome ... are they actually for sale anywhere? A quick look was inconclusive. Bass being my other instrument, it's like ... a little of both. Might be interested. Love the pickup placement.

Only place I was able to find them online was elderly and I ended up ordering the last one they had on order (although they're unsure of when they'll ship yet).

Almost 20" scale length is an odd choice for mandola, more like an octave. That rosette is gorgeous.

*Eastman also had a killer 815V in a new model with an aged violin finish. It sounded old and played really well, too.

I ordered an Eastman 805/V which also has the antique varnish (distressed) finish. I am receiving it Friday. These guys seem to put a lot of skill into their productions. I would very much like to read more about the Eastman process and watch videos that show their shop if they exist. I have seen guitars being hand-made by Eastman on video and it appears they have a very refined process. This is what I could afford and I am hoping it has the tone and quality I am wanting.
