Lester Young is one of my all time favorite musicians, period. Trying to get through some rhythm changes and some bop of the Masters tune.

I recently bought a recording, of a 1961 Riverside session(Volume 2, 'Blues & Ballads') of the great Lonnie Johnson, with guitarist Elmer Snowden. The first cut is 'Lester Leaps In' a great version. Snowden is playing an acoustic guitar, lots of melody & hot solos, and I read a comment by jazz mandolinist Jamie Masefield, that Snowden may be playing a tenor guitar(Snowden was an accomplished banjoist).

Thank You so much everyone. I really appreciate you listening. The Tenor is such a great instrument, and I'm really enjoying the process. Hey Thanks for that Dave! These guys are the Bomb!

I found the great Tiny Grimes playing his Tenor on a blazing version starting around the 15 minute mark. Great, great playing. I wonder if he's using standard tuning? also, I wonder what Tenor guitar he's playing on the cover? I can't hardly make it out at all. I think he played mostly Gibsons though. I love Tiny!
