The Walter Carter article is tremendous, and Steve Gilchrist's skill and ethic are unbelievable. What an historic restoration! There is a lot in Steve's remark that he "thought about it for three months." Who thinks about anything for three minutes anymore, much less three months? Zen and the Art of Mandolin Maintenance. A great account, and fortunately more forthcoming in the January issue of Fretboard Journal.

The resurrection of this instrument is nothing short of miraculous. I didn't think such extreme damage could be repaired. World class work.
