    Default RIP Leonard Cohen

    Another musician gone this year.

The instrumental version of "Hallelujah" by Jazz Mandolin Project is one of my wife's favorite songs featuring the mandolin.

Sad news. He made beautiful music

Another member of the Angel Band takes his place...a sad day. The world was a better place for his presence. Time to add Hallelujah to our set list in tribute

Made me think of Joe Cocker's version, and he's gone too.

Sad loss. Mr. Cohen was a true artist. He sure left a great legacy, though, and who could hope for more than that?

There was an excellent profile in the Oct. 17 issue of the New Yorker. See if you can hunt it up, it's well worth a read.

I always wished that he would have had more confidence in his voice, rather than surrounding himself with backup singers, children's choirs and whatnot.

Of course the Famous Blue Raincoat record is a classic:

"I guess that I miss you, I guess I forgive you,
I'm glad you stood in my way.
If you ever come by here, for Jane or for me,
Well, your enemy is sleeping, and his woman is free..."

Yup, sounds like the world's most interesting man.

Ah yes, the famous "Jenny sings Lenny" record, a classic indeed, just like the man himself.
