Default Silverangel F5 vs Breedlove OF comparison

I made a video to compare the sound of my Silverangel F5 and my Breedlove Premier OF. My Silverangel has a redwood top from 1850. The Breedlove top is sitka spruce. If you use good speakers, you can really tell the difference. I know which one is my favorite. Which is yours?

    Big difference.

I would guess you probably like the Silverangel. The Breedlove is good, but the Silverangel really has that rich, warm low-end happening. Nice demonstration of two good mandolins.

Silverangel, but my owning one makes me biased. I'm so tuned in to its sonic signature, it's hard to be objective.

Big difference between the two. One is pretty enough, the other just has a lot more going on and so much more depth. That Silverangel is a seriously nice piece of kit!

The Silverangel by a long shot. I owned a Breedlove OF and it was a very nice mandolin. However the Silverangel Econo A I played at Ken Ratcliff's house was one of the two best mandolins I have ever played. As I right this, Ken is in the process of building me the one I ordered from him. Really looking forward to getting that one!
He's doing it with that distressed, antique violin look he does so well.

I think my Silverangel sounds way better than the breedlove.

Silverangel has a lot more complexity of sound going on. Was very impressed. Ken continues to make great instruments. His wife make a great A model as well.

Elijah, you are already good on mando(better than me), but if you keep it up you're going to be a monster player.

Love your SilverAngel and hoping to get one myself someday.

Silverangels are one of the better values in the mandolin world. They do show up in the classifieds once in a while, and they are different sonically that most as they usually have redwood tops and x bracing.

Have all of you that were smart enough to get in on the special pricing offered last spring on Econo As received your instruments?
What do you think of them?

Not yet. Under construction as I write this. Mine is number 10. I did play #4 and it was one of the best two mandolins I've ever played.
