Default "Weber" you like them big or small?

I thought in honor of the gallatin mandocello and soprano mandolin being removed from production, I'd post my two family members. They're no frills, no binding, but so much fun to play.

Now I just need the Weber f mandola complete the CGDA family

I have a Gallatin A style, "D" hole mandola. While it is not the loudest mandola I ever played, it is adequately loud, and by leaps and bounds the best sounding mandola I have ever played (including ones costing many times as much).
I'm sure you will enjoy your Weber dola when you finally attain one.

    Classicalcomp,

Is that the original tailpiece on that mandocello? If not where did you get it? I need a replacement for my Eastman...

    Mike,

The tailpiece shown is the Weber tailpiece that was used on those models. Bruce Weber, at Montana Lutherie, should have some.

Actually, that was a custom trapeze Weber tailpiece. I still have the original in the case. The person who ordered it from Weber had them put it on there.

    Thanks, Vern.

I just did a search, found his email address and sent him a message. I hope things work out.

Now that you mention it ClassicalComp, you're right. I did the original design of that tailpiece for the first Weber guitars (6 string, guitar body base). Then modified it for the Octars (8 string, guitar body base), the resonators (6 string, guitar body base but wider and shorter top), also - for some guitars we made that had mandocello bodies (6 string, mandolin body base) and then this one that was used on some octave and mandocello instruments (8 string, mandolin body base) ...

No problem Vern. I got your bridge installed on my Eastman about a year ago and it's fantastic.
