$600 is pretty darn good considering what these retail for in Canada. I don't know why this has not sold already. If someone around here checks it out but does not buy it, please let me know what shape it is in.

I did look a month ago at it. The instrument is about 5 years old. There is serious cracking of the finish all around the neck joint and the heel of the neck looks like it has sustained damage. The neck has a noticeable upwards bend to it. The owner did not seem to be aware of these issues, but to me the price suggests he knows it is not in perfect shape. I told him I would want a luthier to look at the neck issues before I would consider buying it.

Thank you JH, this is really helpful, and explains why this mandolin is just sitting there. I don't mind finish cracking, but the heel and neck issues you mention are good enough reason to stay away.
