Default D'Addario - Seeking Mandolin Beta Testers

Greetings - don from D'Addario here - we are in the process of refining a new set of Mandolin strings to add to our Nickel Bronze line of Acoustic Strings. We were hoping to locate 400 players to assist us with feedback/input on these sets. If you are interested, please sign up here --> http://ddar.io/MandoBeta

I think it's really cool that you're doing that! I saw the sponsored post on Facebook and signed up. I have been using the EXP74CM on both of my Pava mandolins and I really like them. The heavier A and E really make it easier for me to get the tone and volume I want with less effort. I also tend to rust strings pretty fast, and the coating you guys use really helps me get more playing time from my strings.

    Hello Dan,

I was just filling in the form, but noticed that the address options are all in the US (which I get, you are a US based company after all ) Are you interested in testers from the UK?

    Many Thanks

Rob - we hope to have extra sets to send to our UK office and have a Beta version, once we complete entries for the US. So, technically, yes, this is a US-only Beta test.

Fantastic. Other options for players whose skin corrodes Phosphor Bronze strings quickly are very welcome. I'm excited for this opportunity to check out a new product.

Thanks for the heads up. I signed up. I currently use EXP 74s on my Collings, FW 74s on my National and Elixir lights on my Mid Missouri (I looked for D'a light gauge but could not find any). Please let me know if D'Addario has light guard coated strings...

Many years ago I was drawn to the mandolin and all we had were steel string and that is the sound that I liked and preferred but now they are hard to find so I signed up hoping to get a set to try and will pass along any info that I have to other mandolin players that I am in contact with...This looks like a good promotion for the company and should get a lot of opinions....

I know I have been waiting for Pops1 to get more details from GHS on their plans to promote steel strings so this just might be a faster way to go...

I hope I am within the 1000 that get a free set, I will surly tell them what I think of them...

    I signed up as well.

And I was just about to try out the DR Rare, medium gauge I just got!

I wonder how long before this test begins?

I received an email message and signed up the other day. I just put a set of the nickel bronze strings on my guitar last night and really enjoyed playing them! Glad D'addario is looking to make some nickel bronze mandolin strings!
