Very nice! Cracked me up, though, because I get a very similar "intense concentration face," lol. I'm getting better at relaxing and even smiling, esp when playing with the youth band at church, but that face still comes out when I'm really cranking on something .

    Again, very nicely done!

That's very prudent. The apparent ability to stare people to death also helps in discouraging bad comments on YouTube - worked for me all these years

If anybody would like to hear music from the band I play with, I have included links to our youtube channel, and a video that I played electric guitar in for Forrest O'Connor's band Wisewater I also attached a link to lessons I just started on Skillshare.com on general musicianship called "Earning Respect as a Musician". Thanks for all the kind words everybody!

It is such a lovely mandolin! The intonation is great, it plays wonderfully, the fit/finish is impeccable, and it sounds exactly how I imagine a mandolin should.

I just can't believe that was 2009! It seems so much longer ago. . . My daughter is all graduated from high school AND college and on her own in the world.

. . . and just because the link is broken in the other thread, here's yet another take on Whiskey Before Breakfast!

    Some awesome picking!

I get that you played that as a study exercise. For speed and clarity. Which I agree is a darn good idea, too. Lots of fiddle tunes make great exercises. I read that Fischer's Hornpipe was written as a violin exercise by Johanne Fischer, violin teacher to a young Beethoven. Probably apocryphal, but Fishcher's Hornpipe is another tune that gives a good workout.

Its probably not how you would play it for a performance or a jam. (Nobody could sing the words that fast. )

I really liked #19 as well, as it had nice tone and good projection. Unfortunately for me, the neck profile was a little fuller than I prefer, so I decided to move it on in the hopes that it would find a left hand that it better fits, which it seems like it has. I hope that you give it a good home and enjoy it in good health, Andrew!
