That thing is beautiful. I was out in Boston about a month ago and wanted to go play it, but wasn't able to get over there. Anybody play that thing? I really admire his mandolins and the tones I've heard on videos have the ancient tones.

It is a BEAST! One of the best mandolin I have played in a long time. Like it even better than the new one they had a few months back.

Lark Street had one of Joe's 2005 F5's in stock last July for $3500. I called on a Saturday only to learn that it had sold the day prior.

This is not the kind of information that helps calm someones MAS. How was the set up and playability? That is always super important for me.

Setup was fine. It practically plays itself.

See, now hearing about the one last year makes one hesitate about buying one this year at 6700............the market seems to be full of really nice mandolins right now, albeit your timing needs to be just right (right place right time) for the bargains.

Yes, it is certainly a buyers market. Used Ellis A for $3700? Yes, please.

he came to a local jam in Richmond, Virginia carrying an f5 mandolin and a mandocello - it may have been 2-pt or A model, hard to believe I can't recall. I do recall the deep sound from the 'cello! Wasn't used to playing it though! Loved the mandolin! Beautiful too!

Not me. I have no plans to buy anything through the end of 2016. Actually, I am in the process of halving my collection. My Pava is there as well as my Girouard Octave.

It's no longer listed at the Emporium. Hopefully someone here picked it up and will tell us all about it....
