    Default Strings and Beyond! :)

I figured I'd put the smiley up there so nobody expected a bashing.

I wanted to leave a glowing review for the folks at Strings and Beyond.
After deciding I really enjoyed the EXP74CM's, I decided to go ahead and buy 3 sets. Well I think I messed up on the website and thought I was ordering those and got the regular EXP74s instead, which are fine, but not what I wanted and I already had a few sets of those.

They had the best price after some research of my other usual suspects and I spent over $29 to get free shipping, plus I think there was a discount code for a first time customer, or Memorial Day, something like that, AND they sponsor the Cafe here which is where I heard of them. Well the "wrong" strings arrived quickly and with great packaging (and a free "Snark" faux tortoise guitar pick and a S&B sticker for my case).

I emailed them a few days later and Chris was quick to reply and say that they'd be happy to take them back if I paid the shipping there and they'd ship the new ones at their cost. Wow! I am in NC (as are they) so it's a quick Post Office trip. I mailed them out last Wednesday, they arrived Thursday, I got an email from Jen confirming they received them, they mailed out the new strings the same day and I got them Friday (I'm pretty sure, I didn't check the mail until Saturday). Also another free pick and sticker!

Wow, just very pleased with my first ordering experience and will definitely be back!
Very pleased customer with both S&B and EXP74CMs.

I recently discovered the EXP74CM and I really like them. Quick response on the A and E, and I don't have to work as hard for the same tone and volume.

Strings and Beyond has been great to work with. One of my orders went missing in transit by USPS and Jen from Strings and Beyond replaced it, no questions asked.

Here's (again) another happy customer report from overseas.
The strings I ordered were HALF the price I'd have to pay here in Germany and communication and delivery were great and faaast…
    Great service, thanks!

    I fixed the title.

Please feel free to let us know if you had any problems with your order.

I have been a long time satisfied customer, mainly for Wegen picks and Thomastik strings. Great customer service and my favorite online music source. I just reordered some more of these Snark picks to take advantage of the low price and free shipping offer:

I absolutely love the way the EXP74CM's play.
The tension is perfect for me.

Unfortunately on my particular J Bovier they tend to strangle the sound a bit.
Although it is louder, it doesn't feel like the top can vibrate as well as with the EXP74.
It is very dry and poppy with the EXP74CM's, but with the plain EXP74s the sound has just a hint more "open", which I appreciate.

I have a Northfield NF-F5S arriving tomorrow, so I will try the EXP74CM's out on it to see how it reacts to them.
I have a few sets from when I was using them left over.
I will be interested to see the difference between the EXP74CM's and the EXP74's on my new instrument.
I hope my new Northfield loves the EXP74CM's, because I would love to go back to using them.

Any Northfield players here using EXP74CM's?
Have you tried EXP74CM's vs EXP74's?
