Re: Strings and Beyond! :)
I absolutely love the way the EXP74CM's play.
The tension is perfect for me.
Unfortunately on my particular J Bovier they tend to strangle the sound a bit.
Although it is louder, it doesn't feel like the top can vibrate as well as with the EXP74.
It is very dry and poppy with the EXP74CM's, but with the plain EXP74s the sound has just a hint more "open", which I appreciate.
I have a Northfield NF-F5S arriving tomorrow, so I will try the EXP74CM's out on it to see how it reacts to them.
I have a few sets from when I was using them left over.
I will be interested to see the difference between the EXP74CM's and the EXP74's on my new instrument.
I hope my new Northfield loves the EXP74CM's, because I would love to go back to using them.
Any Northfield players here using EXP74CM's?
Have you tried EXP74CM's vs EXP74's?
