    Default Skip Kelley Mandolin

    Just received my new Skip Kelley F-5. Redwood topped and quilted maple back and sides. # 55
    Some time back I acquired one of Skip's A models in a trade. It was fabulous!!! Fantastic fit and finish, and sound galore. When I saw this new F-5 come on the market I asked Kevin at Mandomutt if it could possibly sound any better than my A model. He gave a very detailed response....."YES"

    So I pulled the triggerClick image for larger version.

    If you are considering a new mandolin I strongly suggest you add Skip and his mandolins to your pick list!!!!!!!!!! You will not be sorry. :}

    Congratulations!

    I bought #54 about 2 months ago and love it more every time I play. Especially when I go back and listen to recordings picking with others. Sometimes I feel like I'm being drowned out a little and I go listen to the recordings and it is cutting through like butter and then some.

    You'll notice that the finish will look bright red in some lights and almost black in other light, a really cool effect.

    FYI, I'm really enjoying the EXP74CM strings on mine moreso than the EJ74 or EXP74s.

    I got mine from Kevin at MandoMutt also and it was a pleasure doing business with him. Congratulations on your new mandolin! Keep up the great work Skip!
