Default Minuet in D Minor (J.S. Bach), mandolin trio (with score)

Johann Sebastian Bach: Minuet in D Minor (BWV Anh. 132)
From the 1725 Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach
Arranged for three mandolins by A.E. Sheppard (BMG Magazine, June 1972)

This is a simple keyboard minuet by Bach, played as a mandolin trio. It's the third piece I've recorded this weekend from a bunch of loose sheets given to me for safekeeping, this one published in the BMG Magazine in 1972 (see attached scan). It's also the third piece I've recorded with my Gelas mandolin after finally getting around to set it up for playing yesterday. Here, the Ceccherini plays the tune and the Gelas harmony first time around, swapping on the repeat.

    1890s Umberto Ceccherini mandolin
    René Gérôme "Gelas" mandolin
    Mid-Missouri M-0W mandolin

As part of my lockdown videos, I have re-recorded this Bach minuet last weekend, this time in a more live setting (filmed myself playing the melody, then overdubbed the accompaniment). Good fun to play!

This time, I have played it as a trio of two mandolins and mandocello.

    1898 Giuseppe Vinaccia mandolin (x2)
    Suzuki MC-815 mandocello
