Thread: Bill Monroe + the Queen, Rare Footage! or not

Default Bill Monroe + the Queen, Rare Footage! or not

I went to pay our cable bill yesterday, and on their homepage it said "Flashback: Monroe Meets the Queen, See the Rare Footage". The text was covering most of the pic except for what appeared to be two young men, and me not remembering what Bill Monroe looked like when he was younger, for a sec I was all set to see some early Bill Monroe playing bluegrass for the Queen. I was thinking, wow this is cool, a giant cable company finally showing some respect for 'traditional' music right there on the main homepage, I mean, c'mon, Monroe, gotta be *Bill* Monroe right, who else would it be?

    Oh... umm...

It seems that what some of us mandolin folk think of when we hear the name "Monroe", isn't the same as what the rest of the world thinks of when they hear that name.

Sigh... would've been nice though eh... oh well...

I read the title of the thread quickly and saw "Bill Monroe+Queen". That might have sounded something like this:
