what Marty said, needs some stripes.

I can imagine a big block white and black racing stripe.
It better sound killer and one might need to be a pretty hotshot player to pull it off though.
Not the same shade of green, but you get the idea here:

and if you drove a Mini Cooper (black with white stripes).

*I still like it, it does need a little help with some change imo.

So if it's a "custom shop" does that mean built by others than the mandolin division? Do they share molds and equipment?

It can't be because that would mean having duplicated resources/divisions within Gibson Corp. Dave Harvey's crew must have built it and sent it over to the custom division to apply the finish. I think Marty is dead on with it needing more bling to make it attractive to a potential buyer. What is the price on this thing?

I think its all right, not to everyone's taste. A refreshing change from 'pumpkin', 'Sheraton Brown' and run of the mill sunburst instruments. You don't think Sarah Jarosz or Sierra Hull playing it in a white blouse and black skirt wouldn't make it look and sound terrific? Or even Doyle Lawson in the appropriate Nudie suit?

They claim it was "made by David Harvey" and they're currently asking €4,800.

Would I buy the mandolin? Yes. For the right price. Would I play it out? Sure, why not. Nice truck, Emmett.
