Thread: Forgot to put it away

Default Forgot to put it away

I play in a little just-for-fun-purely-acoustic trio called the "Kitchen Kings".
We rehearse at my house and usually our bass player brings his double bass, which needs lots of space so I put my instruments in their cases except for my mandolin and my uke, which I play in the band.
But for the last rehearsal, he announced that he would bring his new semi hollow electric, so I left my tenor guitar in its stand.
The other two members asked me to demonstrate them this funny little guitar, and I chose the song "I can see clearly now" to try it in a band context". Chord-wise, it's rather simple and it worked out fine. http://www.classic-country-song-lyri...icschords.html
It seems that now I'll have to carry three instruments to our gigs ( which are rather rare...)

That's a sound performance (pun intended).
This tenor sounds totally like a normal guitar. I'll never understand what other people need 6 strings for.

Enjoyable listening! The mandolin that starts at 1:19 fits in with the song perfectly, sounds really sweet. Nice vocal harmonies too. That song has always been one of my favorites, and your group plays it very nicely.

Thanks! Another song, that works fine on tenor guitar, is ELPs "Lucky Man".
Just got to talk the singer into playing the moog solo on kazoo...

If ELP is an option, Still You Turn Me On comes to mind.
Is your singer into chewing gum?
