    Default Columbia Gorge Bluegrass Festival

    Hey There,

Anyone going to the Columbia Gorge Bluegrass Festival next week?
I'll be there all weekend with various remnants of my band coming and going.
Hoping to have some good jams.

    Kirk

I plan to be there as much as I can. I live nearby but I have to accommodate my wife’s out-of-town visitor so I’ll miss the Saturday A.M. workshop. Between travel and medical crap and life just getting in the way the CGBF will be my first fest this year. NEXT YEAR, BY GOD, I’M FILLING UP MY DANCE CARD BEFORE ANYBODY IN THE FAMILY MENTIONS ANYTHING ELSE!!

We’ll be there on Wednesday, hopefully with a few other folks. Weather looks good, hopefully not to ‘breezy’.

The peanut butter stout in town is great, although it sounds terrible. Looking forward to a glass, Red Bluff Taphouse.

I’ll be there. Look for the big white Promaster with a pop top causing trouble til the wee hours. That could be me.

I was there yesterday and today. What a great turnout there was and wonderful performances. I guess that I should wear something to identify myself as I wander around. I met only one person I know. That speaks to the number of people there. I only have a regret that I missed the workshops due to having to take a friend to the Vancouver Amtrak station at workshop time. Next year, for sure!

    Edit: Spell check.

Jake Jolliff was just amazing. And he sings better than CT. I’d never seen anyone play a moving tremolo while they were singing the lead. Wow.

Watching John Reischman was an iconic cultural event. Great shows.

This was my first time seeing Ann Staninec (with Whiskey Deaf) and all I can think is, “Ah, youth!” I love watching a performer who is animated and enjoying what she does. I gather that she lives in (near?) Portland so I'll be watching for dates. She makes me think a little bit of a slightly toned down Donna Stoneman. I enjoyed this year’s fest more than the past ones.
