Does anyone besides Pono make a tenor guitar specifically for nylon strings? I want something specifically made/braced for nylon strings. Has anyone played the Pono or any other? Thanks.

I have two nylon string tenors, one 21" scale and one 23" scale, I made one and modified another from a steel string tenor.
I love them for what they are.
There is this one.... http://www.mandolincafe.com/forum/sh...g-tenor-guitar
Thanks! fox.

I took a good used, quality 23" scale student classical guitar and modified the neck and head stock to a tenor. This was basically a $200 way to see if I would like this scale length and then perhaps buy the Pono. Sound wise I didn't find that it was too much better than a good bari uke, and for some chords I enjoy the shorter 20"scale of the bari uke, less finger stretch. I am going to get a Kala tenor guitar instead with the 21" scale. For me, staying with a similar scale length and nut width when going back and forth between bari uke and tenor guitar helps me to play better. It is of course a very personal choice and we all have our own ideas about sound, scale length and so on. Some things sound better on steel, some on nylon, or maybe its just the mood I'm in. Pono makes a very nice instrument. I had a Pono Acacia Bari uke and it was very good, the neck and action were excellent in particular. I should expect nothing less of their bigger Tenor guitar. Good luck in your search.
