Hey everyone,
I've read and re-read all the case threads I can find on here. I am looking for a new case, am frugal, and have a pretty specific list of what I need.
I have an F5 style, use a K&K temporary mount (so need the room on the treble side ideally so I won't have to remove it), and want some storage for nippers, strings, winder, tuner, and more. I am a big fan of the aesthetic of the rectangular suitcases, don't mind a little weight, but would also like the backpack straps option for the motorcycle. Strapping to bike is an option as I have done this with the rectangle.
Am down to one mando with the original Weber shaped case and I just don't like shaped cases, mostly due to the lack of storage.
I don't want to spend >$500 so Caltons, Prices, etc. are out.
Don't want zippers.
For my use, temperature is rarely an issue, I store mando on wall hanger at home, but gig and practice regularly for short distances, mostly in the car but often on the bike (I am soo glad I'm not a bass player).
Will rarely, if ever, fly with it.
Based on my reading here, top of my list are Travelite and Hiscox. I realize I can't backpack the hiscox but I could shoulder strap across my back <Removed by Moderator, this is a family forum>.
Ideally, I would like to replace my weber shaped with a weber rectangle but my efforts here have failed to find one since they only come with ferns and value is a mystery. If I went that route I would probably get a travelite also. Two cases may be my future plan, but am searching for the do-it-all, even if that means a case cover so I have two options of quick and easy vs. more protection for those travel events.
I know, I know, I'm a demanding SOB. Thoughts? Thank you!
