The lyrical form is spot on. Did you really lose your Blue Chip? If so, I feel for you, borther. I've misplaced mine before, but it always turns back up. Mine blends in too well with my coffee table.

How long had you owned it? Has the concept of the "irreplaceable pick" become a part of your daily routine? (Similar to items like eyeglasses or car keys or your phone.)

How long has it been missing?

When was the last place you remember having it?

Did you check the clothes dryer lint screen?

What color is the carpet in your house? (I've lost one for two weeks on the floor of my music room. The rug has splotches exactly the color of the pick.)

I lost one at a festival once, and found it the next day on the ground in some deep grass.

If you didn't drop it off a bridge into the river, I'm guessing it will turn up. They always do. Try calling it.

I lost it Saturday night at a jam. Everyone was down on all fours looking for it.

I have hardwood floors. Carpet? ewww . . . Anyway the jam was at my buddy's workshop.

I don't think it's in the river. But maybe I'll go down to the river, & bring me a rockin' chair.

    yah, no carpet. Got it.

Did it just fling out of your hands, then all of a sudden, you realized it was gone? Did you set it down? Did you use the bathroom?

    We will find it, dammit.

Just how good a buddy is your buddy? Hmmm? Years ago I lost a turtle pick at a friends house during practice. There was much searching, even moving the refrigerator. It has never shown up, at least that I know of. To this day, whenever I go there, I'm still lookin' around. I've never seen him using it, but he's the cautious type.

One of the reasons I don't own one, the other reason is after borrowing a friend's BC I couldn't see where it was any better than my 35cent Fender extra heavy. I figure I can lose 100 of them for the same loss as one Blue Chip.

That is my new philosophy. Then I won't have to sing these lowdown blues no more, lord, lord.

It will turn up. We are not giving up on you. And don't you give up, either.

We do need more details as to its disappearance, though.

I don't know what to tell you. It was here, and then it was gone.

I'm not convinced that having my name engraved on it would have prevented that.

Try the Dunlop Prime Tone Sculpted 1.3 - 1.5 mm. Almost as good as a BC but not quite. The opaque ones without the raised logo are better. They're more expensive than Fenders, maybe $2 a piece or so.

I like the Fender Extra Heavy large triangle too.

I have lost two in the last 4 months, they still haven't shown up. The other day, I saw my dog grab a Proplec off the computer desk, I had it near the edge. So with a dog, and two cats who love to paw and chase things on the hardwood floors, I won't find them until we move, which will probably be never.

I lost a BC and just about disassembled the house looking for it. Thought about getting one of those BC pick holders and attaching it to my key ring, but decided that's not a good idea as I don't want to lose my keys.

I do have a Dunlop 1.0. I like it just fine.

Buy another one and the lost one will show up for sure ;-)

That's one reason I haven't shelled out the $$ for a BC. They're really fine, but while I had the pick tour selection I really couldn't see a large difference, if any, from my Primetones, or even a nice heavy clownbarf celluloid pick. My wife, who has great musical ears, couldn't hear any difference either.

I've lost two now and had no regrets replacing. I spent more on craft beer last trip to total wine. Lost all of that eventually.

A couple of days ago, my 1 1/2 year old daughter stole my favourite pick. A lavender colored dunlop delrin 1.5mm. Hand beveled. Well played in (it had just started to "open up" ). I offered my BlueChip TD 60 in exchange, but she refused. Why of all things did she take the ugliest of all my picks? There are so many nice red, blue, yellow or clown barf picks that should appeal more to a kid.

Just hope you daughter (dog, cat, etc.) doesn't swallow it, or the doctor/vet bills will make that $35 pick look cheap.

I lost one at a bandmate's house jam. I eventually gave up on it and bought a couple others. It was a good excuse to try different shapes and I wound up liking the CT55 better than the TAD60-3R I lost.

Well probably 6-7 months later, they found it at the house while doing some cleaning. Don't give up!

Edit to add that I also almost lost one a couple of weeks ago. Somehow in the chaos of playing while watching my 14 month old and stopping to feed him, I managed to actually THROW AWAY my pick. After looking around for a while and knowing I had not left the two rooms, I finally realized where it must have been. Luckily it was right on top and a good washing made it brand new again.

I will probably buy another TD 60, and hope that my daughter will trade my beloved dunlop delrin for two blue chips.
