    Default Mandola gigbag - Found!

    Hi all,

I just found this fairly sturdy gigbag which had enough space for an F-4 mandola. It's a bit pricey (about $100), but it is on sale right now for $52. It looks to be worth the full price.

This is a Gruv Gear BARITONE Uke gigblade. To give you an idea on size, the mandola in the picture has an 11" bout, is 31" long, and is about 4.75" tall.

    Pete

    Good Find!!
It's a challenge to find any type of case for a mandola. Thinking of ratios of mandolins to guitars and then mandolas to mandolins I can understand a company's reluctance to build a mandola case. But I would think that one builder of cases could support a line of mandola cases, or not even a line, just one model!

I have a waldzither that needs a better fitting case. The waldzither's length and height are roughly the same as your mandola, but it has a 12.5" bout. Any chance this case would accommodate something that wide?

I think it would be iffy with a 12.5” bout unless the widest part is closer to the base of the case. The bag is basically a big triangle.

One more thing, that neck support pad is movable/removable. It is held in place by Velcro on its sides. Also, the case came with an additional pad (1.5”x1.5”x8”) that you can Velcro in anywhere to snug up the fit.
