Jazz pick users?

I was wondering if there are many other jazz picks users out there? I have been on the perpetual "pick hunt" for a while. I had ordered some specialty picks and mistakenly got one which was a jazz pick size. Immediately I really enjoyed that particular pick. After Christmas, I had some $$$ and splurged on the Blue Chips Jazz80. So far I am really loving it! It seems to have a tone that I can describe no more than "dark chocolate". My mando is a Weber Bitterroot and I am using D'Aaddrio flatwounds on it. Any other recommendations for similar type picks?

I've been playing jazz for almost 40 years, I currently use Pickboy sharp carbon 1.14 picks,,,the best for me I've ever used....

It's the only size I use on mando. Lately I've been trying out Graph Tech Tusq picks, which not only come in several different thicknesses and sizes, but also different materials which emphasize different overtones in the note played.

Try the Dunlop 205. It's a great mandolin pick if you like small jazz picks.

I use the Wegen M250 three-corner rounded pick, 2.5mm thick, beveled, parallel grooves both sides, one side has concave center

I play Gypsy Jazz and this is my favorite. Nice fat sound. I favor the rounded picks for everything, including the years I spent playing bluegrass.

I use John Pease jazz picks that I got from my teacher -- who ordered them in bulk after or around the time John Pease died. We did a bunch of pick tests with my Eastman and the snake and the Pease were the best, hands down. I like the small size and the point but they do tend to bevel after a couple of years ... I didn't realize there were BC jazz picks. I'll have to check them out when I win the lottery (!). The only time I drop back to a guitar-size pick is when my arthritis starts acting up.

Randi: you can still get John Pearse jazz picks (and other JP products) here. I used his Jazz picks for years and also Ultem jazz picks and those discontinued Gibson small black heavies as well as Fender jazz picks. Lately my favorite is BC Large Jazz 50 but i also switch off with 40 and even 35. I like "heavy" picks but not the super heavies that some folks here like. To each his or her own...
