    Default Avondale (Dominic Behan)

This is an Irish folk song, written by Dominic Behan. I first heard it on Mick Moloney's first solo album ("We Have Met Together", 1973). The song is about Charles Stewart Parnell (1846-1891), the leader of the Irish Land League and founder of the Irish Parliamentary Party, who was born at his ancestral home of Avondale House in County Wicklow (now a country park and museum).

This arrangement is by Jan Wolters:

I have recorded this on mandolin and two tenor guitars.
