Default Madre de Deus - Tune from the Cantigas de Santa Maria with Octave

A pretty grooving and historically highly incorrect interpretation of the song "Madre de Deus" from the Cantigas de Santa Maria (13th century Spanish).

If you have no Flash Player: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MRHLVGD8Y7Q

Played on an Oakwood Octave Mandolin (ADAD), Percussion and Hurdy Gurdy.

    Hope you like it :-)

Beautiful rendition of this tune! I love the Cantigas, but I'm not familiar with that one.

    Thank you Mike :-)
I think I would play it rather slow if I should sing the lyrics over the tune and it would sound very different.

    Very nice!

The clip didn't embed correctly, because the syntax for the "YOUTUBE" tags is a bit different -- I've corrected it and it should display now.

I know this tune from an equally rocking version by Malleus, but I didn't know it came from the Cantigas. Well played!
