    Default Rover RM-75 F mandolin?

Hello! Does Rover make good mandolins? I've been looking at the Rover rm-75 f https://themandolinstore.com/product...75-f-mandolin/. If anybody has this mandolin, please tell me your opinion on it. Thanks!

I own one. It really is a very good instrument. Lots of projection. Seams to be made pretty good. The quality of mine is really nice. I bought mine used, and I put new strings on it, and set it up. It surprised me. It was my first mandolin. I upgraded , but I still own the Rover. I will most likely keep it, as it does have a good sound. Looks great also..

I have one, an older model with the dark cherry color. I think that its a good solid instrument for it's price. After a while MAS kicked in and I knew there was a better mando out there so I upgraded. I still have my Rover, however, and IMHO you could do worse.

Here is a video I made with my Rover about a year ago.

What's that thing on the strings in between the bridge and endpiece? That shows up in The Mandolin Store pictures as well.

It is just a piece of leather strip for dampening any string buzz that might occur.

Oh and BTW Dennis or Brian at "The Mandolin Store" are great to do business with. Top notch people to work with in your purchase.

TMS is great and I bet their rovers play well.

The two rm75s I owned years ago (not from TMS) did not have a pleasing fit/finish. But, for the money, the rm75 has decent value.

I am heavily biased towards used instruments from the MC classifieds.

That's a good price on a new Rover RM-75, and from a great shop!
Rover is made by the same company that makes Kentucky (Saga).
The woods are solid wood, not laminate. However they are pressed into shape, not carved.

This is from the Saga site:
Solid carved Sitka spruce top gives you clean articulation and a crisp, bright tone
    • Solid carved flamed maple back and sides for extra punch
    • One-piece maple neck and rosewood fingerboard for fast, easy action
    • Adjustable rosewood bridge allows player to dial-in the perfect string height with ease
    • Deluxe tuning machines work smoothly and keep you in tune

They are hand carved not pressed.....

The website says they are hand carved.
