I have a recipe for St. Cecilia's punch which was given to my father by the St. Cecilia's guild in Charleston and, it is quite the celebratory beverage! It just might turn leaves back to the trees if over enjoyed.

Sounds tempting. Perhaps not the right word to use where saints are involved ... But judging by its provenance, probably OK.

This thread has taken enough turns for me to feel comfortable posting this.
Well, that was quite pleasant. Another song from Laverne, Patty, and Maxine I'd never heard before. Don't know why "St. Cecilia" nor its significance, if any (we are free to guess), but there it is.
And yes, we've not a whole lot to discuss concerning the OP till we hear something akin to the inspiration having been transformed into audible music. We await, ever so expectantly, with great anticipation ...

But it's so much easier just to post videos!
I have a print of St. Cecilia hanging in my front room, I'll try to remember to take a photo of it and post it tonight.
Saints can provide refreshment JB!
This particular parish's Guild makes the punch in a 40 quart cooler, new every year!
If my iPad was not damaged (beyond repair) I would attach the recipe.
I'm not sure where I filed the hard copy but, might be able to find it in time for Christmas, time to start looking.

Was St. Cecilia's Guild a D-25?
Why, yes, yes it was!

Hey, if they're making a killer punch in 40 quart batches, they're doing all right by me.

Nice we have ventured so far afield from your original query Jaycat, here's the punch recipe in a more diminutive form:
1/4 cup sugar dissolved in,
1 pint EACH, brandy, peach brandy, dark rum and STRONG black tea
1 bottle champagne
We mixed the sugar and booze and placed it in the freezer and then simply made them "one at a time" in glasses,
topping the mix with champagne.
We made this reduced quantity batch for a family gathering some years ago, a fine time was had by all!
Sorry if I am causing hangovers this early in the holiday season but, it's one amazing beverage!
JB, that's why she's still tuning

At first I thought it was The Dillards, Whole World Round, but there was no mention of any leaves.
Chris Hillman played in The Flying Burrito Brothers, maybe you're remembering the song All Alone

I know I should just let this thread slip away, jutr unravel and slip away ... and yet ... So I just happened to see a band on Conan called La Santa Cecilia. Of course, I might not have checked them out had it not been for all this pithy palaver ... No, that's not true, I tend to check out everyone who shows up on the talk shows. But I did make a point of doing so as a result, and I was pleasantly surprised. They were just delightful. They're from LA, blend several genres into their sound, and won the Grammy for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album last year. No youtube video of this yet; here's the link to Conan's site.

Very nice JB. I also enjoyed the John Fogerty links further down the page.
I realize its only Friday morning but, has anyone tried the punch yet?
This thread is branching out so much, it might have brown leaves of its own!

Oh, JB! Take root where you stand, it will tap out soon enough.
Obviously, it won't be "trunk" ated very soon.

Again with this unseemly behavior! To your corner! Since you wood be so obstinate and obstreperous, here is your homework assignment whilst there ensconced. This should keep you from getting board.

Well, plankety plank!
The only way I can brighten the corner would be to set myself ablaze! It would be a very small fire at that.
JB, you know I'm just funnin' you.
Apologies for this weeks dim view, frustrating times for me this week.
Maybe I should stay in my corner for a while just because!

You should be used to it by now! It's your corner. I know, because I was heading there recently, but I saw a sign that said, "This space reserved for Timbofood." I just gradually eased on back out of there.

All these puns has made this corner very interesting. Frustration? had my fair share of that. Will resume my mandolin practice fully shortly. New life, hopefully new compositions and new songs.
