E string issue ?
got a quick question regarding an issue i noticed with my mandolin ...
bought a new mandolin last year, and have had a blast learning how to play it ...
but i recently found that when i play any notes on my E string between the ~ fifth and twelfth fret, it plays the same note ? G D A strings all resonate proper notes as they should ...
has anyone heard of this on any instrument ?
i changed strings but still hear the issue ...
any feedback would be appreciated !

Re: E string issue ?
This happened to me as well, but not quite as bad. The 12th fret at the E string is probably just a little high, so when you press down on the lower frets, the string hits the 12 the fret before hitting the lower fret. This could be due to a change in humidity which caused some shifting. At least that's what happened in my case. Have someone check it out to reset the fret. Good luck!

Re: E string issue ?
Yup, it's likely a high get or a bowed neck or some other setup issue. Not a string issue. Get thee to a luthier!
