I have never seen one for sale and a quick search comes up a zero. Perhaps it is a custom order only?

Managed to find this on Weber's website. Looks like its a new body shape that is applicable to a number of existing model trim including Fern, Diamondback, Yellowstone and Rawhide.

The photos on the website only shows oval hole. I wonder if one can order it with F holes instead.

I saw that previous thread and nobody from the cafe seems to have any hands on experience. Seems odd, no?

Mandroid - I simply found it odd that in the only previous thread, no one had any experience playing them. That's what I was responding to. You are reading more into my words than is there...

I have a British Made Hodson 'Djangolin', its in the shape of a Selmer Guitar , I get that Part .

The deal apparently is that they've designed them and are now gearing up to produce them. The scuttlebutt is that the first ones will be available in the fall. According to the website, they'll be available in various trim levels and as mandocellos, octaves and maybe "regular mandolins." I don't know if Bruce monitors this site, but if he does, I hope he'll weigh in with what are apparently ready customers.

I'm sure that there was another thread (or post) on here about this new model mandolin. I put forward the idea that maybe Weber were aiming at the mandolin players who wanted a tone verging on a 'guitar-like' tone. Personally,i think it looks very nice,

I don't know if anyone is still following this thread, but I got one of these about a year ago. 2015 Weber Cutaway mandolin, honey blonde finish, tortoise shell binding on the body and soundhole ("D" shaped, Bruce's version of an oval hole), ebony board. Saw it for sale on Bruce's website, montanalutherie.com, and fell in love with the looks, then with the sound once it got to me. It sounds like a really good 'teens Gibson A, but louder. Really resonant and rich. I work every summer at a family folk music and dance camp and last summer, three of the other staff musicians had old As, there was a white one, a pumpkintop, and a black one. We were playing English country dance tunes together, and all three of them told me how much they loved the sound of that mando. (I'd like to say it was me, but they didn't react like that the year before, when I was playing my Weber-signed F-5L). Certainly not a bluegrass mandolin, but if you get a chance to try one, give it a go.
