Default NK Forster Session King tenor nearly ready

I've been wanting to make one for ages, so I did! The shape is my guitar bouzouki body, the scale is 22", back and sides osage orange, with a European spruce top.

The tuners are 16/1 ABM planetary pegs.

[My opinion] Euro spruce has such round, warm tones, and osage orange, crisp and loud.
Can't wait to hear this Tenor. Have you tried this combo before Nigel?

I love the old style headstock.
You make so many different styles of guitars and they all sound so nice.

Years ago I made a osage/spruce 12 string. Sounded like one of mine! It was a great guitar, it would be interesting to hear it now.

I've quite a few sets of the stuff. I bought it because it was touted (like lots of woods) as being similar to good Brazilian and I have to say it's similar in lots of ways - mass, tap, doesn't like to be glued... but the big down side is who wants a yellow guitar? Not me.

That yellow is a good base for a sunburst though. Mind in this case I grain filled with a dark brown then stained the wood "mahoganyish." Now it looks kinda like a mahogany/oak cross. Much better than yellow though.

I actually got it back from the sprayers this week and strung it up today - really nice. Like all the Session Kings, it's LOUD! I tuned it like an OM and I have to say I find the sound more appealing than double strings. I'm off for three weeks on Sunday so won't get a chance to finish it off and set it up till I get back. This one is getting a "light" spell in the time machine. It's all rather exciting, I love making new stuff.

Yikes!! I like that tea burst finish.
And the sides look like my Hond/Hog Tenor.
    Beautiful.

Here it is after a spell in the "time machine." I've tuned it GDAE for now and I'm very happy with it - it's really LOUD!

Plan is to make a video this week featuring the Session King tenor.
