I've got a Michael Kelly that I put an Allen tailpiece on. #It made a noticeable, but not great, improvement in the sustain and volume of the mando. #At my next string change, I think I'm going back to a stamped tp to see what a difference there really is. #So... the question is, are all stamped tp's created equal?... #is there one out there that will be any better quality than the one that came on my MK?

A good professional setup will improve the quality of sound and likely be cheaper than any tailpiece. Experiment with different strings and picks, they do make a difference.
