Default Mel Bay A Guide to Octave Mandolin & Bouzouki - McGann

**Please disregard, I was able to find the audio files for download on the Mel Bay site.

Howdy. I assume at least some of you denizens of the CBOM have this book and the accompanying CD?

I purchased the book and I've found that many of the audio tracks are very poorly recorded. I am pretty sure I just got a bad CD, but I was wondering if anyone can confirm that?

Does anyone know where I can find the pristine tracks otherwise? I purchased the book from Amazon (I am pretty sure it was Amazon), but it was such a long time ago I am not sure returning it is an option.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have that book and CD. I haven't listened to it in a long time, but I don't recall the CD sounding especially bad.

Note: the tracks are hard-panned, with the backing OM on one channel, and the melody OM on the other, so it's not going to sound like a typical stereo recording. This allows listening to each track separately as you follow along on the Tab, and of course when you do that, it's a mono recording.

    Just one additional comment.

John McGann really was a monster player. The song tracks are great to listen to for pure musical enjoyment purposes.

    Thanks Foldedpath.

There was definitely something wrong with my disc. The tracks I downloaded from Mel Bay sound great.

I just purchased this book. I haven't listened to the disc yet--it's good to know there's a way to download the tracks if I need to...
