Default Qustion about Modifying a KM300e

I picked up a KM300e a couple months back and I really like it but it really is just a tiny guitar. At least that's how I end up approaching it after a few songs with my band.
Seems to me that if it were an 8-string, it'd reclaim some of the 'mandolin' sound back. Has anyone out there turned one of these into an 8-string? I thought I'd read another post that suggested there was adequate space to accommodate the extra set of strings. I'm guessing the cost to do so would likely negate the process, but I really like the feel of this thing. Any thoughts?

It should work i think the Nut Width is 1 1/8” might have to find room for the extra tunners , i don't think it would cost too much if you can do it yourself just need 4 tunners new tailpiece and maybe only replace the top of the bridge and new nut

Borrowing from Rickenbacker 12 strings ..Tuners for a slotted peg head and a regular one can combine
to make more fit with less space.

You could always sell it and buy an 8-string.

Wow! That's a great idea- I'm going to have to look into that... Thanks!

Some of the Rigel I-110s had a tuner layout like this (image from the Rigel Website).

I'd just buy an amp (or a stomp box) with stereo chorus. Works for me with 4 & 5 string emandos. Sounds like doubled courses, plays like single strings.
