Default Death of an instrument builder

I am sorry to inform you that a wonderfully
talented instrument builder, Keith Medlin of
Morristown, TN died on February 28th
Just two weeks short of his 94th birthday.
There was some discussion on here about
his instruments and one post incorrectly
stated that he died a few years ago.
Services at First United Methodist in Morrristown
On Sunday. Allen funeral home in charge.

I am so sorry to hear. For many years, Keith was the only other luthier in my area.

I hate to hear this. I acquired one of his D18s & what a guitar!! He & I emailed back & forth a few times after I got it, a really nice man & a fine luthier.

I am so sorry to hear. He was one of my inspirations when I started out. He only lived about 25 miles away from me, but I only recall meeting him a couple of times. Through the years, I have done repair on several Medlin mandolins, and they always sounded very nice. I do have one of his guitars (a mahogany dread) that I bought in an estate sale a few years ago. It needs a new back, but I am proud to have it.
