I'm try to learn classical style mandolin using violin music that is almost 100% picking single notes with some tremolos. Most of the books I see are for playing chords and strumming techniques. Anyone have any recommendations?
Thanks!

Are you looking for Classical Duo style, in the realms of Evan Marshall
I am at ground level and learning to play with an orchestral group with the 2nd mandolin section using 2nd violin music.

There's a lot to learn working with violin books, but if I were you I'd look at some of the on-line vintage mandolin methods by Munier and Calace.

I think you'd like Marilynn Mair's Complete Mandolinist.
