Default Mandolin extravaganza at Carter Vintage Feb 6

Another great show coming up on Friday Feb. 6th. This time it's Mike Compton, Roland White, Sierra Hull, and Nate Lee on the same stage.

These shows at Carter's are very intimate and informal. They clear a space on the showroom floor, put out some chairs, serve some wine or beer, and generally have a mingle scene surrounded by great instruments. Good chance to play some fine mandolins and chat with your favorite picker.

This show is in conjunction with the Nashville Mandolin Camp which starts that day: http://nashvillemandolincamp.com/

Just a reminder for those that might still want to attend. Carter does these shows year round so if not this time, there might be some event in the future that fits your schedule and you can hangout and play some amazing mandolins while waiting for the concert to start.

Nashville, are you associated with Carter's? I was there in November and everyone was very nice. I played literally everything on the wall but never thought to ask as to what was available to see that wasn't hanging in public. Not that I'd get to play a Loar but was interested in something more high end than the wall selection.

No, I'm not associated with Carters at all. It's just become my favorite store. They are great people and have a great selection. It's really a place for musicians. I do like Gruhns a lot and I also love Cottens Music (now limited hours) there is something extra special about Carters. And it really hit home one afternoon after I played on a Heiden, Ellis, Daley, Altman, Gilchrist, Monteleone, Dudenbostel, some vintage Gibsons, Collings, and more in one sitting. And then when I expressed interest in a BlueChip pick, they just let me try anyone I wanted, before buying. I've never seen that before. So I've been going back ever since and get all my luthier work done there now too. I have a feeling that's where my next mandolin will come from.

The front room has the under $10k selection, the backroom has the over $10k selection plus the Loars.
