Happy I dependence day!
Its not a backwards guitar.
This makes me want visit Finland again - it's been too long (17 years!). I heard Heikki Lahti at the Kihaus (Rääkkylä) and Kaustinen folk festivals (along with is brother and daughter - or niece?) and was captivated by his musicianship.
Thanks for posting and Hyvää Itsenäisyyspäivää! (...and thanks to Reddit for the translation).
I was being pestered by a couple of hungry cats who wanted breakfast when doing the original post. Seconds after I hit "post" I spotted the thread topic typo. Since that isn't "editable" (by peons), I e-mailed the moderator within minutes asking if they would please correct the spelling, but I guess they just couldn't be bothered to insert three letters ("den") into the word.
BTW: there are some Finnish tunes in some of those MD back issues I'm clearing out. (see classifieds)
at Heikki's house in Finland 1996: (l-r) Eero Lähti, Heikki Lähti, NH, Antti Kettunen. (I look like a "kid" in that picture, in spite of being 43 at the time!)
