drums and Audacity

Does anybody know if there is a way having drums as a click track in Audacity? I use the Garage band thingy on my iphone and recorded an automatic drum sound, which I have adjusted to the tempo of my song beforehand, it was much more pleasant than the click, click of the click track. The Garage band app supplied some drum loops today, for a tiny fee, and there is a Chicago blues drum beat that sounds simple and nice. I don't see how I can use that in Garage band to increase or slow down the tempo then import into Audacity. I could slow it down in Audacity but I would not know how to tailor it to my song. At the moment I figure out the tempo by tapping on the keyboard along with a program and this automatically tells me how many beats there are.

I hope my question does not sound too convuluted. Put more simply, I would like to have a drumbeat instead of the click track and possibly leave it on songs if it sounds OK.

I think you might find this does it.

I do not use Audacity myself, so cannot test it - but I know several people who have used the above and seem pleased with the result.

In many DAW's it is quite easy to change the 'click' to something else, but it seems Audacity does not have this function built-in.

I'm pretty sure there is no click track in Audacity. Perhaps you might try Reaper.

Better ask ameliastrings. I use Addictive Drums as a VI, but I'm using Pro Tools 10, Reaper or Ableton Live 9 Lite. I use Audacity as an editing, mastering and simple recording program, any complicated tracking is done in another DAWS.

That gives you more options, but it is still limited compared to what you can do (often quite easily) in mainstream DAWS. One alternative approach might simply be to track the output of a drum machine, as David mentions.... either a virtual or hardware machine, fed to one track with the timing and 'voice' you require.
