Default J. Strauss II: Wer uns getraut? (from "The Gypsy Baron")

    Johann Strauss II (1825-99):
"Wer uns getraut?" or "Wer hat Euch denn getraut?" ("Who Tied The Knot?")
From "Der Zigeunerbaron" (The Gypsy Baron, 1885)

This is one of the best-known Strauss songs, from his operetta "Der Zigeunerbaron", with the chorus "Die Liebe, die Liebe ist eine Himmelsmacht!"

My recording is based on an arrangement for violin and cello by Arjan van der Boom from:

    http://arjanvanderboom.nl/Gratis.html

I've played it on mandolin and tenor guitar instead, which works just fine.

    1915 Luigi Embergher mandolin
    Ozark tenor guitar

It's a fun piece to play, and not at all difficult (at least the mandolin part, the guitar part is a bit trickier - I tried it on mandocello but got my fingers in a knot).

Well done Martin, and thank you for the link to the arrangement. Looking forward to playing it.

    Thanks, Fred/Bill.

For what it's worth, the score I was actually working from is the attached PDF which I downloaded from tangosite.com just before that site went offline. It's the same Arjan van der Boom arrangement as linked in my post, but with the accompaniment in octave treble clef rather than bass clef. Easier to read if you want to play it on either guitar or OM (it's in the range for either). I've raised the lower notes in the double stops in bars 4 and 5 by an octave to make fingering easier on mandolin.
