Default The latest Elkhorn off the workbench

Well, after building a new house and a new shop; I'm finally getting things going again. Just finishing this one up (#40). I have three F-5's now in the works so look for good things to come! Enjoy!

I can say first hand that #40 sounds brilliant, since I put a hold on it in August and picked it up in Durango weekend before last. Great chop, loud and clear. It has an unexpected sweetness to it that I hadn't anticipated and it rings beautifully. Considering the exquisite workmanship and the sound it is already producing, I couldn't be happier.

I am jealous. I would love one of Robb's but am saving my pennies. Love the idea of having mine built here in CO as I am always hiking up the mountain in my backyard with mine.

Well Haggardphunk, I hope you're not hiking up the mountain with your mandolin today because from where I'm sitting it looks like it's snowing up around your part of the Rockies.
I've wanted an Elkhorn for at least 4 years (or whenever it was that I first saw his website), and a bonus with this one is that Robb allowed me to choose the hardware and button color, truss rod cover material and type of finish, even though it wasn't a sure thing that I would bring it home until I saw and tried it in person. Not much chance that I wouldn't want it though, because it is exactly everything I wanted visually AND sonically to boot.

that's great to hear. And I did not make it outside today. It was snowing here but looked like it was dumping just a little bit higher up. I really think my next one will be from Robb. Pry a few years down the road though
