I used to live there when I was a kid. Moved to Merced, then Visalia. Finally escaped the valley and am in Los Osos. There's lots of mandolin packers around that area, just don't know if they hang on the Cafe.

Where do they hide? I've met one, who had less experience than me and that was saying something.

There's a local assoc. that has bluegrass bands play in the little park next to the seniors center in Clovis every Fri. night all summer long. Check out centralvalleybluegrass.com

I'm in Turlock. My banjo player lives in Fresno. There's two good mandolin playing buddies of mine in Merced. There are a few good guitar players in Fresno too. Check out members of the band Grass kickers. They're great guys.

I'm new to the cafe and just recently got into the mandolin. Nearly 20 years with guitar and some viola. Anyway....shot in the dark since this thread doesn't have any recent activity but I am in Fresno. I'm in the same boat. Wish I had people to get together With and jam....and to learn. I absolutely love this instrument and want to keep working hard at it.

I live in Clovis, work in Fresno, play in an acoustic 60's-70's band in the general area. Have never looked for jams, however.
