Default Tim and Sam at DIA storm shelter

A bunch of bluegrassers post Rockygrass had boarded the plane at DIA when a tornado was spotted and we were shuffled off down to the storm shelter. Tim and Sam pulled out their mandolins and entertained, because that is what they do!!!!

Whoa! Excellent! Have mandolin, will travel - and entertain. Good thing mandolins are so portable.

Nice. It's so cool to see them having fun. It's entertaining, but I think they'd be having just as much fun with just the two of them and no audience. Thanks for posting.

I suspect that was the first exposure most of those folks had to well played mandos. I love street musicians and that is one of the cool things about a place like New York City, where you can learn so much about music and instruments by just standing there watching. In fact my first exposure to resonator instruments was seeing a member of this site busking in NYC with a National guitar.

This is why mandolins should be encouraged as carry on baggage.
