Okay, sort of off topic in an equipment forum, but what the hell, you seem like a good group of people and I haven't had much to say lately anyway...

I was practicing my mando the other night after my lady friend went home (she does put a dent in my mando practice time, but oh what a lovely dent it is...). Anyway, after practicing a while (I was sitting at the foot of my bed), I laid back, still fingering Red Haired Boy (the song, the song...sheesh) and thinking on the lovely evening I had had, and the next thing I knew, it was four hours later, my mando still balanced on my chest...

So, a) should I worry? and b) should I tell my lady friend that I slept with an equally sweet sounding chunk of wood?

Thanks in advance for any comments, words of wisdom, insults, or telephone numbers for psychiatrists specializing in post-mando-partum depression...

Give me bluegrass or give me The Grateful Dead.

I don't know . . . with all the points and sharp string ends; it would be, like, dangerous.

I don't see anything disturbing about it, but you are liable to roll over and break the neck on that mandolin.

The only problem I've see is that my Flatiron gets terribly jealous of my F2.

Its not backyard hammock season yet.
I wouldn't want to roll over onto any of mine.

My girlfriend has several pictures of me sleeping on the couch with my mandolin. You will not find any of them posted on this website (or any other for that matter).

Thanks everyone...then I'm not alone in this madness...speaking of which, I go to work early these days for a reason...I like picking as I watch the sun set.

    Take care all.

Like it? I #######' love it! Learned 'Wildwood Flower' the other night...sure, I'm still on the novice songs...but damn that thing has a beautiful sound. What really gets me is that it has more sustain than my guitar...

I walked into a music store the other day and picked up an F-style (Johnson mando)...plucked her a few times, and thought, This doesn't sound nearly as sweet as my Kentucky.

    Thanks again.

My Bluett has 3 dings/scars that are all due to my falling asleep while playing. Once, I woke up when I heard the peghead hit my tuner that was beside me on the bed; that one put a pin head size dent in the top back edge. I can't account for the other 2 but they're on the front and it sucks that I don't know how they got there.

Take it from somebody who learned the hard way,if you play in bed put a strap on your mando and put it around your neck. It'll stop your mandolin from sliding off of you and into the corner of a nightstand. How about that, sounds like a PSA for mando pickers!
