Hey all. I've just uploaded Ashokan Farewell to the Yahoo group.

I appreciate any help you guys can give. I've been playing since January and trying to make some improvement.

Hopefully I'll be able to get Blackberry Blossom up soon. I'm driving my wife crazy with it over and over again.

I'm really thrilled that I found this group and the song project. Thanks to all involved in keeping it going.

    chris,

the file you uploade is not a sound file. the suffix is "aup". try exporting you file in audacity as an MP3 and then upload it again. please try again!

OK, I've downloaded everything I need to convert from the Audacity to MP3.

I click on File and then Export to MP3. When I go through what I'm saving in and then get to opening the Lame to convert it, it's telling me that the Library can't be opened.

    What am I doing wrong?

    __

Nevermind, I got it going. Its up and ready for criticism.

    But remember, I'm a newbie.

    Thanks mandolooter.

I realized something that I could 've done to make it a little better.

I laid down the lead and then the rhythm. I think I should've laid down the rhythm and then the lead. I found myself doing the rhythym with the guitar and missing some licks on the geetar.

    Am I right?

    Sounds pretty good.

I think the best way to do assemble a multitrack is:
    First: Metronome or other timekeeper
Next: Backup instrument (e.g. rhythm guitar)
Now you've got a solid rhythm part to guide your timing and note choices for the lead.
    Last: Lead instrument (e.g. mando)
